5/10/2023 0 Comments Lyddie book![]() ![]() Diana tells her it would be a good idea to let her brother and mom know about her whereabouts so they would not worry ,in the novel she does this naturally. In the movie when she goes to the boarding house she meets Diana who stays in the same boarding house as Lyddie, when in the novel she stays in the boarding house down the road. The mill she went to is not in Concord, but is in Cornwall. In the movie she told Ezekial Abernathy about her great idea to go work in the factory, in the novel she told Triphena. After Lyddie’s work is criticized she quits while in the book she is fired. In the novel the lady staying at the tavern told Lyddie about factory life. In the movie after dropping Charlie off at the mill, Luke told Lyddie of factory life. ![]() Some differences were, in the novel when Lyddie left to go work at Cutler’s tavern she left a note for pa, thinking that when he returned he would not worry where they were. ![]() There were many similarities and differences between both the novel and movie. After completing the novel we decided to watch the movie that was made after the novel. In our class we read the novel Lyddie, by Katherine Patterson. ![]()
